Privacy Policy

This page is for textzy at https://textzy.gitlab.io. If you landed here from some other “translate anything” site, you’re in the wrong tab.

I wrote this to match what the site actually does. No login. No checkout. No mailing list popup. If a generic policy talks about passports, billing, or newsletters, that isn’t us.

The short version

You type in a box. Your browser turns the letters into Unicode (or a fun “translator” mix). That work happens on your device. We don’t keep a folder of your captions on our side.

What we do load is Google Analytics, so we can see which tools people open. Google AdSense may show ads. Google Fonts also load from Google’s servers. The files themselves sit on GitLab Pages.

Who we are

textzy is a small set of free text toys: cursive, bold, fancy fonts, zalgo, name symbols, superscript, and a bunch of style translators. Contact email is o40875638@gmail.com.

What you type into the tools

The converters run in JavaScript in your browser. We don’t have a “save my paragraph” feature. We don’t ship your input to our own API to process it.

That doesn’t mean the internet is magic. If you paste secrets into a public computer, that’s on the machine in front of you. Don’t type passwords or private messages into a font generator. It’s a silly tool. Treat it that way.

What we collect

We don’t ask for your name, phone, home address, or an account. There is nothing to “sign up” for.

We may see, through analytics or hosting:

• pages you open (cursive vs Spanglish, that kind of thing)
• rough location from IP, browser, device type, screen-ish data
• referrer (which site sent you here, if the browser sends it)
• time on a page, in the messy way Analytics estimates it

If you email us, we have whatever you put in that email. That’s it. We use that thread to reply, not to build a marketing list.

Cookies

textzy itself doesn’t need a cookie to convert “hello” into fancy letters. Google Analytics does set cookies so it can tell a returning browser from a new one, more or less. Google AdSense also uses cookies and similar tech to serve and measure ads.

You can block cookies in your browser. The generators should still work. Stats and ads may look dumber, or ads may be less relevant.

Other companies in the mix

Google Analytics. Measurement ID is on the site (G-KGEKXJ0E61). Google’s own policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can also use Google’s opt-out browser add-on if you care about that.

Google AdSense. Publisher ID ca-pub-2094612949841867. Google (and its ad partners) may show ads on these pages. They use cookies and similar storage to pick ads, count views and clicks, and stop fraud. Some ads may be based on your browsing on this site and other sites. Google’s ads policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can turn personalized ads down in Google Ads Settings. The authorized seller file lives at /ads.txt.

Google Fonts. We pull Noto Sans and Pacifico from Google’s font CDN. Google may see your IP when the font files load. That’s a font request, not us reading your diary.

GitLab Pages. The static HTML lives there. Hosts keep server logs. That’s normal for any website. We don’t get a daily dump of your full browsing history from them.

We don’t sell your information. No data broker deals. No “we might share it with partners for a personalized experience” fog.

How long stuff sticks around

Analytics stays in Google’s product for whatever retention we left on the property. We aren’t archiving your tool input because we never received it.

Emails we keep long enough to handle the request. After that, we don’t need a shrine of old “how do I copy cursive” threads.

If you live in the EU, UK, or similar

You can ask what we have on you. For this site, that’s usually “not much,” unless you emailed us. You can ask us to delete that email thread. You can object to analytics and personalized ads; blocking cookies, plus Google Ads Settings, is the practical move.

Write o40875638@gmail.com. Say what you want done. If we can’t tell it’s you, we might ask a simple check so we don’t delete the wrong person’s mail.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority. That’s your right, not a slogan.

California

We don’t sell personal information for money. We don’t run a login profile. Google AdSense may use cookies for ads. If you still want to know what we hold, or want an email deleted, same address: o40875638@gmail.com.

Do Not Track: we don’t build a second tracking stack on top of Analytics. We also don’t promise that Google’s script reads every DNT flag the way a privacy blog hopes. Browser cookie controls are the reliable lever.

Kids

The site is a general toy, not a kids’ app, not a school account system. We don’t try to collect data from children. If a parent thinks a kid emailed us personal details, tell us. We’ll wipe that message.

Links off this site

A page might point at Instagram, Discord, Google’s policy, whatever. Their rules are theirs. Read those if you click through.

When this text changes

If we add accounts, extra ad networks, or a server that stores your input, this page gets rewritten. The date at the top moves. We won’t email the planet about it because we don’t have your address unless you wrote to us.
